It has taken me a few days to process my thoughts and emotions about what a powerful day last Saturday was. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to host free community activities that inspire beings to create! At this years festival, I hosted a community art station where makers were invited to create a Yeti or a Birdie with the provided art supplies. And let me tell you loves, these artists did not disappoint! There was so much creative energy in one room - with artists young and old all diving into the materials provided. Some stayed just a few moments, and others spent a good chunk of time in the space with me, creating multiple works of arts. At the end of their creation time, each artist made the decision to take the art home with them OR feed it to the Yeti for the community art project. Unfortunately, my vision for the event did not go as planned because it was SO BUSY!! I originally planned to have a volunteer assist with the creation stations so that I could rapidly create a community painting - in my brain and story, the painting would have been finished by the end of the day but I could barely keep up with the requests and occasionally making the table somewhat presentable. I am still brainstorming ways to finalize this project. But for now - here is a slide show of all the art that was fed to the Yeti! Special shout out to the beautiful humans who invited me to take part in this event, the venue host Birdies, A Place To Gather, my creative soul sister Heather and all the powerful artists who made art with us last weekend!
