Sometimes, we have everything we need but we cannot locate it because we are not in vibrational alignment. And other times, you just don't have that tool and you need to order it online through amazon and wait 8 days. I love this process and the progress. Yesterday we ordered the awning that will be installed to the box to cover both the interior and exterior doors of the box. VERY exciting to see this project concluded. We needed a tape measurer - so Papa Frank brought us one and then I proceeded to find three more throughout the day! We also decided that we will be revamping the displays in the store. I have been using anything that tickles my fancy and fits in the spot but as we grow and define the vision, some things just become so clear! So shelves - shelves shelves shelves! Custom made shelving is in the works! Over the weekend, we were blessed to visit Kenneth Greatbatch's studio just around the corner from The Banana Box in West Swanzey and we stepped into his creative world! WOW! Talk about inspiring... Greatbatch is what’s called a “woodturner”; he carefully crafts bowls, vases, ornaments and other items from the various types of trees in our region. We even brought in some of his work to The Banana Box! Wood shavings everywhere, the sweet smell of hard work and life dedication was so present through out. It was really a blessing to be in this space! Woodturning is a form of woodworking that is used to create wooden objects on a lathe. Woodturning differs from other woodworking crafts because the wood is moving, like clay, while the artist uses a stationary tool to sculpt it. Greatbach says that his jobs is to make the beautiful out of the mundane, which can be difficult as wood can be an uncompromising medium. You can shop Kenny's wood turned bowls, jewelry, ornaments and more at The Banana Box!
